Changing Shape


I lamented last week about not losing any weight, but running was going well. I was frustrated, but excited at the same time.

The other night, though, I was making room in the closet for some of Twitter Guy's stuff and decided to do some clothing try-ons. Now, I have been everything from a size 6 to a size 22 in the last 10 years, so naturally I have some "goal clothes" - but really, not that many anymore.

Before Christmas, I had tried on some of these clothes and they were, alas, still to small. Then the other night, I did it again. And jeans that I couldn't even close to button a couple months ago fit perfectly (in fact so perfectly, Twitter Guy could not stop commenting on my butt - good thing, good thing).

So I realized that my lamenting is in vain - my body is changing. Dramatically changing. And muscle is more dense than fat - that's just the way it is. I'm building muscle and seeing changes, so that's enough for me right now.

I've put the scale away for a while. Maybe I'll break it out in a few more weeks, but for now, it lives away.
